I made a real nice glaze for some whiting fillets: avocado, honey, ginger, and sake. Throw in some cayenne pepper, zucchini, onion, and tomato, baked on 350 for 30 minutes and broil on high for 4 minutes, and you've got a delicious seafood breakfast. Let me elaborate: whiting just tastes like boring white fish. No fat, no taste. But the glaze and veggies were amazing and really made the dish. I also baked/broiled some yellow squash, which tastes pritty dern good slightly burnt.
Open-face Portobello Deer Burger with Rutabaga Fries
Before tonight, I had never actually had venison. My cousin gave me the hook up. I threw the burger in the oven on 350 for ~30 minutes, and laid it on top of a soft portobello cap with tomato and Dijon mustard. The rutabaga was similar to the turnip, but tasted more like potato. I'm quickly becoming a big fan of root veggies, and I'm sure I'll make quick work the three left over rutabagas in my cupboard.
